Everything you typically need is in the back of the grocery store such as egss, milk, butter etc. The marketing idea is to get you to impulse buy everything on your way there. Also, the higher priced items are at eye level on the shelves. Look to the lower shelves for generic and reduced priced items.

Thanks Wendy. That´s great advice. I´ll keep the blinders on in the front of the store.

If you have PeaPod (Stop & Shop) I would highly recommend it. Not only do you save on gas and aggreviation of shopping but they deliver your groceries right to the door. This is great for me since I have Epilepsy and cannot drive. Your first order is free delivery and if you refer someone they get $10 off and you get $10 off. Hope this helps.

I received an e-mail that my sausage soup won a gas card. I am so thrilled. Has anybody ever won one? How long does it take to get the card?

I can certainly use it!!

I hope you all enjoy the recipe as much as my husband and I do!!

You should receive your gift card about a week after your recipe is announced.

i have started checking the ads before making my grocery lists. I find that if I make out a list when I go the the grocery store, I save so much money!

Another way I´ve started saving quite a bit of money is by shopping at places like Aldi´s for my basics. It´s so much cheaper there. Everything from milk to quite a few of my frozen items I now buy there instead of a regular grocery store. Meat and produce I still like to get at my regular spots.

I also stock up on meat when it´s on sale. I throw it in the freezer. About every 6 weeks or so, the grocery store puts chicken breast or hamburger on sale for $1.99/lb. I stock up and try to get enough that will last me until the next time it goes on sale.

Coupons... I hate clipping them, but I find that I save money when I do! We even went as far to get a weekend subscription to the newspaper just for the coupons. It pays for itself in what you get for coupons, generally.

I´m up for more ideas if anyone has them!

I´ve subscribed to thegrocerygame for over 2 years now but haven´t been diligent with using it. Mainly because the time frame for the sales is on off days for my usual shop... Mon-Thur, I believe?? Anyhow..the best thing that I´ve done for myself is to take the time and create 2 weeks worth of meals. Then I make my list from that and it´s AMAZING how much money that I don´t spend when I do this. The added bonus is that it gets rid of those "quick" runs to the store that end up costing a fortune.

The best and highest value of grocery coupons are posted online on the 1st of each month. Once the quota for coupons clips are reached, brands begin to remove these offers.

So many good ideas, but no one specifically discussed saving on household cleaning products. Many of are looking for "green" products now, but they need to work well and be cost effective. If you have this as a priority, check out these amazing green products: www.mycircleofwellness.com. You shop onine and have them delivered. They are soooooo concentrated, you only need to reorder every 4-6 months. I love these products and have personally used them for over 25 years!

There are several groups you can join online that have coupon trades available. I am a member of another parenting board where the ladies and I share coupons and help each other out finding the great sales.

I clip coupons every sunday from the paper and i also check alot of online coupon sites and print them and if you shop at food lion you can sign up for their emails and they will send you some coupons as well, and i like aldi´s too and i always look at what is on sale and for who is having double coupons and triple coupons. Lowes food always doubles their coupons and once in awhile they triple them as do harris teeter, so I get alot of things for free or real cheap. Woohoo!! :)

I do a lot of my shopping on line. I purchase all of my vitamins, shampoo, dental products, deodorant, lotions, soaps, household cleaners, cold medicines, over 400 itmes from one place and it is shipped right to my door in 3 days. They have all kinds of great online sales and everything is non-toxic. I would love share this company with anyone interested. I save gas, time and keeps me from impulse buying so I save money.

Save on beauty products, shampoos, basic make-up items, etc. I am an Avon rep.

Go to my website at:

www.youravon.com/lhutter

Free shipping (great way to save) and stock up when you find items marked down.

Does anyone know a real coupon site, where it is not the same eight pages of the same coupons.
I need coupons for what I normally buy and I am sick of all the coupon sites that say you can search and get coupons that you want or need and then it is the same thing again.
And I need to save money and not do surveys and not spend money on stupid offers.
Can anyone help????

I have a coupon for EVERYTHING, I belong to a great site where we talk about where to find the best deals and save the most money. Look for coupons in the store, make sure to check the back of product packaging and sometimes they are slipped in the package itself. Also, e-mailing companies can often score very high value coupons. Trading back and forth is a good way as well, with people who live in a different state, sometimes the values vary by area.

you can make disinfectant out of boiled lemons cut them in half i do two or three to make it really potent. in a qaurt pot and then pour into spray bottle. the acid from the lemons make them a natural disinfectant. and lemons are cheap so you canmake this super cheap and save lots on the cleaning products

I find that clipping coupons is kind of a waste of time when most of the time generic brands are cheaper than brand names with coupons. I find the great value brand at wal-mart to be good.
