I would love to know if anyone takes any natural medicine for hot-flashes due to menopause. I´m in early menopause at age 41 from my chemo drugs and I can´t take hormones (not that I would if I could). These hot-flashes are driving me crazy and I´m wondering if any natural herbs or such would help...Thanks !

Cathy:

I was fortunate when I was going through chemo 7 years ago at age 45 I also went through menopause at the same time. If you had negative homone receptors than you need to make sure you take nothing that contains soy or produces estrogen as this could be bad should the cancer come back.

I would check with the doctor on this matter since chemo was involved. Wish I could have helped more. Hope all goes well for you. It´s tough hang in there!

My home business is about bringing better quality safer products into our homes. With regard to menopause, this is highly recommended and using natural ingredients.

3-in-1 Nutrition for a Lifetime of Balanced Female Health
Packed inside each EstrAval capsule are soy, dong quai, and black cohosh—in the research-recommended doses.

* Soy is high in isoflavones that mimic estrogen and help reduce the occurrence of hot flashes. Soy also enhances bone health.
* Dong quai is high in phytoestrogens used in Asia to promote uterine health and to regulate the menstrual cycle.
* Black cohosh is recognized as a safe, non-steroidal compound that imitates a woman’s own estrogen.

I would be happy to speak with you about this. Good luck in your search and God Bless in your fight with cancer.

Cathy, I just joined this today and read your post. Have you found a good solution? I´m through with menopause and can tell you the herbs mentioned by Christine are very helpful. I also have a home-based business working in health and wellness (for over 20 years). You can check out healthy supplements on my website: www.mycircleofwellness.com. Blessings!

Christine and Jennifer:

Believe me when I tell you that when chemo is involved there are some herbs you need to stay away from. I am a cancer survivor myself.

Soy is usually a no no because it mimics estrogen and most cancer survivors cannot have soy after going through chemo. I agree herbs can help with menopause but where chemo is involved a medical doctor would be the person to give Cathy the best answers in this case.
